And here on the blog, that means it’s time to share a list of children’s books about diverse baseball players.

While baseball has been nicknamed “America’s pastime,” it has hardly been an accurate display of the diversity of the country. There are wonderful children’s book about baseball players who have broken barriers and paved the way for those on the field today.

I grew up in a baseball family. All three of my younger brothers played since the time they knew what a baseball was. Going to St. Louis Cardinals games was one of our favorite family activities, and still is to this day.

Of course I knew the story of how Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier, and my mom used baseball as a way to introduce the topic of racism and the Civil Rights movement when she was teaching my brothers.

But I didn’t know the stories of all these other people who shared the love of the game, so I am honored to bring you this list of children’s books about diverse baseball players.

Save for later!

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_image src=”https://theradicalagenda.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Copy-of-PIN-SET-14B-2021-1000×1500-40.png” alt=”children’s books about diverse baseball players” title_text=”Copy of PIN SET 14B 2021 – 1000×1500 (40)” _builder_version=”4.24.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_4,3_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_image src=”https://theradicalagenda.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/jackie-robinson.jpg” alt=”The United States vs Jackie Robinson” title_text=”jackie robinson” url=”https://bookshop.org/a/95864/9780063087170″ url_new_window=”on” _builder_version=”4.24.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_code _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”] [/et_pb_code][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”3_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.24.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]

United States v Jackie Robinson

Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen (Author) R.
